Introduction Structure Roles & Responsibilities Community Panels
There are 3 Community Panels covering the areas of Hollinwood, Coppice, and Freehold and South Chadderton.
As a community panel member, you would attend regular meetings (bi- monthly) and, along with other local people, decide what are the priority issues affecting your area, discuss and recommend potential solutions for the scheme to investigate and have an opportunity to advise on projects/initiatives that affect your area. Project Appraisal Panel
This panel carries out a rigorous appraisal of projects (new and existing) and is the final point of recommendation to the board. The panel is made up of representatives from the Board and community panels who have undertaken appropriate training. In carrying out its role the appraisal panel will look at a number of issues: is the project value for money? Does it contribute to the schemes strategic objectives? What other options were considered?
The panel will meet as and when there are appraisals to consider. Theme Groups These are open to community members, Board members and representatives from relevant stakeholders who have a particular interest in the relevant theme. The groups have responsibility for project development, partnership working, the sharing of information and recommending projects to go forward for approval..
The theme groups meet quarterly and have recently been developing strategies for the development of the work within their particular theme. the Board
The Board's role is to have an overview of the SRB6 Scheme and how it is running, and to make decisions about future policies and activities. This includes looking at each project that asks for funding, and making a decision about whether or not to give it the money it has asked for. It takes into account the recommendations of the Appraisal Panel and Community Panels and the advice of the Co-ordination team. The Board will receive reports about the Scheme's finances and about whether or not it is hitting the targets that it has set.
The Board is involved in developing the Annual Delivery Plan, and monitoring progress against it. It is responsible for reporting to the North West Development Agency.
The Board meets on a monthly basis, and meetings are usually held between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. (earlier during Ramadan) and there is also training for Board Members, some of which may be compulsory. Any compulsory training would be arranged with a range of dates and times so that everyone could attend a session. |
