There are a number of community facility buildings throughout the SRB6 area that provide an excellent venue for a wide range of community groups, sports activities and social events. Due to the ever changing needs of community groups and the greater demand for safe and secure meeting venues, a number of facilities are currently unable to offer the appropriate time slots, space or specific resources required to host these groups. The SRB6 Scheme has launched a ‘Community Facilities Grants scheme’ to help enable Community Groups to carry out improvements and enhancements to their premises. There are two grants available, a small scheme, for projects requiring up to £5,000 and a larger scheme, for projects requiring up to £40,000. Grants are available to fund a variety of improvements including both the internal and external works, from new doors and new fencing, sports facilities through to enhanced facias and improved security. For a full list of eligibility, priorities and what can and cannot be funded a set of guidelines are available to support applications. The level of grant funding available is limited, so it would be advisable to contact the Regeneration Department at your earliest convenient time. All grant applications will be assessed and prioritised by the SRB6 Appraisal Panel and SRB6 Board.
