| The initiative aims to improve the health of young people and Black and Ethnic minority woman by improving information and access to local services and creating opportunities for people to take part in health related training and sporting activities. The initiative is delivered across several 'Cottoning On' projects. The Energize Project Outdoor Sporting Activities for Free! Regular exercise is vitally important if you wish to stay fit and healthy. If you're aged 8 or above, the Energize Project offers a wide range of exciting sports activities. There are even vacancies for volunteer instructors available to people aged 16 or above. Energize already has a two-year track record with previous project success's including a Slim and Tone club for young women, a multi-sports club, the development of a Fitness Trail, and a girl's football team. Now operating in Alexandra Park, Energize is offering FREE canoeing and climbing sessions. |

It will also be setting up a canoeing centre, developing an orienting circuit, and working on developing other sporting opportunities in the area. One key development is the construction of a fitness trail, upon which courses and activities will be offered on the topics of healthy living and exercise. | Wanted Volunteer Sports Instructors Fantastic opportunities are available to would-be Sports Instructors. Energize is currently seeking people aged 16 or above to become volunteers teach and coach young people canoeing, climbing, orienteering and keeping fit. No previous experience is required – just enthusiasm! Full training will be provided leading to accredited sports qualifications. |
