Unemployed and living in Hollinwood? The Failsworth Job Centre closed on the 1 August 2006. 70% of claimants from this centre are Hollinwood Residents who now have to travel to Oldham Town centre to sign on and more importantly, to access on-line job vacancies. Benefit from better access to job opportunities and benefits... This project aims to establish a dedicated computer link between Highway to Opportunities (H2O) outreach support in the St Chad’s Centre and the JobCentre Plus opportunities database. This means that residents will be able to access the very latest vacancies from Jobcentre Plus. A longer term aim will be to enable claimants to “sign on” on-line through an internet link. A little computer-phobic!? No problem! Support will be on-hand for residents who are not comfortable accessing information through computers and the internet. When will the service be launched? It is planned that the service will be up and running before the end of November 2006. Once operating, the service will open from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:45 Where to find us?
